Go East Trail Exhibition and Endorsement
Wednesday, 30 July 2008
Ping Yi Secondary School proudly launched its Go East Trail with an exhibition held in conjunction with the Kaki Bukit Family Carnival on Saturday 21 June 2008. The Guest of Honour at the event was the Prime Minister Mr Lee Hsien Loong, who also graced our exhibition and officially endorsed the Trail. The Go East Trail is a National Education project of the school. It comprises a heritage trail that takes visitors through the streets of Chai Chee to learn more about the estate’s rich multi-cultural identity, before moving on to the nearby Joo Chiat estate, famed for its vibrant Peranakan and Eurasian communities, tasty delicacies and fascinating social history. The Go East Trail is also a Community Engagement activity that seeks to be a service to the people of Chai Chee by organising tours for them.
