The Craft and Technology department has grown from strength to strength since the last strategic direction was charted 5 years ago. Our aim to empower managers through project management and productivity enhancement remains the same, and it will continue to be our driving benchmark for 2008. Moving forward towards the next step, our emphasis is now centred on cultivating the spirit of Innovation and Enterprise in both our knowledge managers and students. This can be done by empowering our managers with all the necessary resources, experience, and lastly, the will to make changes in order to refine and enhance the educational process. There are no “I” in team, and similarly, our ability to excel lies in the ability to tap on both the diversity of our experiences, as well as the collective strengths of our managers. These include:
Teamwork · We have a cohesive team based on the value of trust and respect, as well as transparent communication. · Information and news are passed along quickly and efficiently, and an atmosphere of camaraderie is encouraged in order to create the best working environment possible for our managers. We are aware of the fact that our managers come from different backgrounds, education, expertise, and interests. This allows for a well-rounded team with a wide range of know-hows and connections that ensures a smooth transition during any stage of our growth. Collective Depth of Experience Our strong team comprises of mid-career professionals and experienced adjunct teams that are more than willing to groom, nurture and assist the young designers. Our program is built on the collective industrial design experience. The management process has sometimes been likened to that of an exquisite dance, with reflection, review, and renewal akin to the steps of an endless waltz. These are the necessary steps we have to take in order to pass beyond teaching in schools, and evolve towards creating a holistic educational culture. For the dedicated teacher, there are no final frontiers when it comes to education. Your child is in good hands and we will shape them to be effective and confident young designers.
